Karen Hendrickson, assistant administrator and chief nursing officer at Southeast Missouri Hospital, has been elected president of Sigma Theta Tau, Lambda Theta Chapter.
Hendrickson recently graduated from The University of Memphis with a doctor's degree in education. A graduate of the Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Hendrickson also earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in psychological counseling from Southeast Missouri State University.
Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing, was founded in 1922 at Indiana. The society has more than 200,000 scholars in 58 nations. Lambda Theta Chapter is affiliated with Southeast Missouri State University.
Dr. Charles H. Cozean Jr. of Cape Girardeau has been appointed a member of the advisory committee of the state health department's diabetes control program.
The committee will assist the diabetes control program staff to examine and better understand problems related to the prevention and treatment of diabetes, implement strategies for reducing burdens of diabetes in communities and improve access to knowledge about the disease.
Cozean, an ophthalmologist, has offices at 56 Doctors' Park.
Rick Skinner of Jackson has joined Town And Country Realty, 1558 Independence, in Cape Girardeau.
Skinner has extensive experience in home and commercial construction.
Dr. Stephanie Frisbie has completed a three-year family practice residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Truman Medical Center East.
Frisbie, a 1985 Cape Central graduate, has completed educational requirements to become a family physician.
