David Snyder has been named administrator at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center, 120-bed facility at 2852 Independence.

Snyder has spent six years with Beverly Health and Rehab, headquartered at Fort Smith, Ark.

He previously worked at the company's long-term care center at Huymansville, Mo.

A. Brian Yarbrough has been named program coordinator for the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.

Yarbrough will work toward the development of educational programs and fund-raising activities for the society, which cared for more than 4,500 homeless animals in 1995.

Yarbrough, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in mass communications, was employed more than three years at Boatmen's National Bank of Cape Girardeau as a customer service associate and new accounts representative.

Yarbrough's community involvement includes volunteer work with the Division of Youth Services and dinner/dance chairman for the 1996 American Cancer Society Gala.

The Humane Society also held its annual board of directors election recently. Three new members -- Melinda McCulley, Jill Pinkley and Charles Stucker -- were named to the board. Re-elected to the board were Susan Elrod, Karen Fox, Laura Hurst, Sally Owen, Gayanne Restemyer and Larry Tidd.

Three area people have passed the CPA examination.

Reid B. Willen of Cape Girardeau, Cindy L. Gjerstad of Jackson and Melynda R. Landewee of Oran passed the November examinations.

The three were students of the Becker CPA Review Course, a preparatory course for the exam.

The National CPA Examination is a two-day exam administered twice a year -- May and November.

Mike Henderson of Advance was grand prize winner of a 3M automotive tint and installation presented by Solar Control Window Tinting of Cape Girardeau during last weekend's Motorama, held at the Show Me Center.

Solar Control also presented three preliminary prizes to Victor Phillips and Mary Friese, both of Cape Girardeau, and John Crites fo Morley.

Robert Hillemann has been appointed executive director of Diversified Treatment Services Inc. at Poplar Bluff.

Hillemann worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health the past 12 years.

In his new duties, he will develop programs aimed at reducing crime, violence and substance abuse in Southeast Missouri.
