Rhonda Wessell has joined Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems as an account executive. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration and had previoulsy served as business manager of Regional Eyecare Center.

Andra L. Fahlberg, a licensed massage therapist and nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork, has joined Studio Designs Beauty Salon, 229 S. Broadview.

Fahlberg, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in management, and has completed a 500-hour massage course.

While practicing massage therapy in Florida, she taught massage, clinical pathology, hydrotherapy, anatomy and stress management for two years.

Some of the techniques she uses are Swedish massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, cranio-sacral and some energy work.

She recently had an article, "Massage Therapy in America," published in the Cape County Medical Journal.

David and Kathy Brunaugh, owners of Gospeland Bookstore of Cape Girardeau, have been recognized by the Christian Booksellers Association for outstanding service, excellence in merchandising, marketing and business management.

Gospeland Bookstore, in West Park Mall, received the "Store of the Region" award at the recent CBA Expo '97 Convention, attended by about 6,000 retailers and product suppliers, at Nashville, Tenn.

The business recently added the "Gathering Place" Espresso Patio Cafe.

Richard W. Bradshaw of Oak Ridge has been named "Representative of the Year" by Prudential Insurance and Financial Services, 1020-B N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau, for outstanding sales and client service.

Bradshaw joined Prudential in October 1991 as a registered representative and has qualified for a number of local and national awards as a member and fellow of Life Underwriters.

Carissa Albers, formerly of Cape Girardeau, has been promoted to vice president in the customer services department at Commerce Bank, N.A., Kansas City.

Albers, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Bill Burch, owner of Burch Food Services Inc., a vending a food services management company at Sikeston, has been named chairman of the National Automatic Merchandising Association.

The NAMA, headquartered at Chicago is the national trade association of the $25 billion merchandise vending and contract food service management business. The organization, founded in 1936, has more than 2,500 members.

Dennis Cox will serve as agriculture salesman for Fabick Brothers Equipment Co. of Sikeston. He will be a salesman in Cape Girardeau, Scott, Bollinger, Stoddard, Mississippi and Wayne counties.

Cox, a former John Deer salesman, has 24 years experience in agriculture sales.

The Fabick Cos., headquartered at Fenton, Mo., has five branches -- Sikeston, Jefferson City, Marion, Wentzville and Fenton -- and is a dealer for Caterpillar and other brands of construction, agriculture, mining and oil field equipment.

Bob Nitsch of Jackson was elected president of the Missouri Association of Fairs and Festival during the organization's recent convention at Columbia.

Dr. Wanda Pipkin and Anne Rees of Merry Lea Animal Hospital, Jackson, recently attended the North American Veterinarian Conference at Orlando, Fla.

Pipkin also attended a two-day lecture and lab session on "Diagnosing & Managing Itchy Skin in Pets."

More than 11,500 veterinarians, vet technicians and practice managers attended the five-day convention.

Dr. Shanon Kirchhoff recently attended a training session for Missouri's Disaster Dental Identification Team, held at Jefferson City.

The DDIT is made up of 52 volunteers trained to perform forensic identification in the event of a mass disaster, such as airline disasters or bombings. The group is a joint mission of the Missouri Dental Association, Missouri Department of Health and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency.

The recent training session was conducted by Drs. John Kenny of Park Ridge, Ill., and Jim McGivney of St. Louis.
