Mark Kneer, director of circulation/marketing for the Southeast Missourian, has been elected president of the Missouri Circulation Managers Association.

Kneer was elected during the annual meeting in October at Osage Beach. The MCMA includes circulation professionals from the state's 40 daily newspapers.

Kneer joined the Southeast Missourian in 1994 after working for the Paducah (Ky.) Sun since 1985. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and is active on the boards of directors for the Cape Noon Optimist Club and the American Red Cross.

Alan Sellers of Jackson has joined McDowell South Inc., 4670 E. Jackson Blvd., Jackson, as business manager.

Sellers has more than 10 years of experience in the automobile industry, seven of them in the auto finance field.

Shawn Schlosser of Kelso has joined South East Missouri Bank's loan department.

Schlosser has 14 years of banking experience and will serve as a consumer loan officer.

Schlosser previously worked at Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau, as a collections officer.

She is a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.

Robert Forsythe of Scott City has retired as a tractor-trailer truck driver from United Parcel Service after 30 years with the parcel delivery company., headquartered at Earth City, Mo.

Forsythe was recently honored at a retirement dinner at UPS's Cape Girardeau facility at Route 1, Illmo.

Lisa Droge and Diane Wadlington have joined Kutters Salon, 117 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.

Droge of Cape Girardeau previoulsy owned her own salon and tanning business. She has worked 18 years in cosmetology and is a graduate of Stage One The Hair School at Cape Girardeau.

Wadlington of Scott City has 27 years of experience and previously worked at Plaza Hair Care. She is also a graduate of Stage One the Hair School.

Gordon Brookman, Ann Brookman and Jay Bond of Edgewater Glass recently attended the annual Midwest Glass Expo, held at Kansas City.

Gordon Brookman attended educational seminars concerning technical advances in commercial storefronts and security glass installation; Ann Brookman attended seminars on auto glass replacement and on new "superset" adhesives, to be used when installing mirror and complex mirrored walls; and Bond attended seminars concerning installing auto windshields and other glass.

Tammy Ditto Carlyle, an East Prairie native, has been named executive director for the new Sikeston-Minor Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The CVB was established last spring after voters approved the organization in August 1996.

Carlyle, a graduate of William Woods University in Fulton, with a degree in legal studies, worked as a paralegal in Memphis for five years. She has experience in tourism and grant-writing. During the past two years she has worked on a $2.9 million Enterprise Community initiative in East Prairie.

She is a member of the Missouri Travel Council, River Heritage Association, Bootheel Tourism Committee and Southeast Missouri State University Tourism Development Advisory Board.

Bill Hodges of Albrecht/Hodges Insurance Agency Inc. recently attended an educational seminar, sponsored by the Barton Group.

Hodges earned three hours of continuing education from the Department of Insurance. The seminar included topics on education training, enhancements to products and improvements and introductions of new coverages.

The Barton Group is comprised of three Missouri Mutual companies -- Barton County Mutual, Owensville Mutual and Cape Mutual.

Jeff Doerr of Doerr Auction Service at Vergennes, Ill., has been elected president of the Illinois State Auctioneers Association, during the group's annual convention earlier this month.

More than 200 auctioneers form the Midwest attended the convention, which celebrated the association's 50th anniversary.
