Sandy Minter has joined Re/Max Achievers, 1471 N. Kingshighway, in Cape Girardeau.

Minter, who has more than 12 years experience in the real estate industry, is a member of the National Board of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors, and the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.

Gary and Rodney Arnold, owners of Re/Max Achievers, announced the company has 14 sales associates.

Re/Max International, based in Denver, Colo., is a network of independently owned and operated offices, with more than 3,000- office worldwide.

Dr. James W. Wills of Jackson and Dr. Jeff Nagle of Sikeston recently attended a postgraduate educational symposium at Phoenix on the latest advances in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal pain.

Those at the seminar, sponsored by Activator Methods Inc., were updated and tested on the latest developments in soft tissue injuries, including recent studies on the field of chiropractic and the effectiveness of a hand-held Activator Adjusting Instrument that assists doctors in adjusting the vertebrae and dealing with nerve dysfunction.

Charles R. Scott Jr. of Sikeston, president of Scott-Huff Insurance, has been installed as vice president of the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents.

Officers were installed during the group's annual convention, held recently at Osage Beach.

Scott also chairs the 1999 MAIA Convention Committee. He previously served as the organization's Public Relations Committee chairman three years.

Dr. Thomas J. Firestone has joined the staff of Southern Illinois Healthcare, at Carbondale as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Firestone, who is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Family Practice, will work with the hospital and home health leadership, overseeing daily operations.

Firestone comes to Southern Illinois from Ohio Permanente Hospital in Akron, Ohio, where he was area medical director. He attended school at Bowling Green (Ohio) State University and completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo.
