Jeffrey A. Krantz of Cape Girardeau has joined South Hills Health Systems of Pittsburgh as director of planning and marketing. Jeffrey A. Krantz of Cape Girardeau has joined South Hills Health Systems of Pittsburgh as director of planning and marketing. Krantz, who is a certified Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, served as director of planning at Southeast Missouri Hospital more than 11 years. He is also a candidate for fellowship in the ACHE.

Krantz has a master's degree in health administration from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and a master's degree in education from Pennsylvania State University.

Krantz was involved in the Cape Girardeau community. He was president of St. Mary's School Board. He was president of Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau and was instrumental in the founding of the local Camp Enterprise program.

He was a member of the United Way board a number of years, and served as chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.

He served on the Community Caring Council and chaired the Health Committee. He was also active in Community Health Assessment Resource Team (CHART) for both Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties.

Krantz served on Regent's Advisory Council for American College of Healthcare Executives. He was also an instructor at the Harrison College of Business.

Krantz was co-chairman of Education Task Force for Vision 2000, and was principal author of the Education Vision Statement. In addition to his community involvement, Krantz represented Southeast on a number of Missouri Hospital Association committees.

Debbie Atchison of Jackson has joined McLane Investments as a leasing agent.

She will be responsible for leasing some of the properties owned by the McLanes.

Atchison plans to obtain her Realtors license this month and will then be working for McLane Investments Commercial Real Estate.

She has attended several classes and seminars regarding sales and management. She previously worked for MVP Communications as a sales consultant and KFVS-TV as an account executive.

Eddie Schreiner has joined the Siemer's Appliance & Service Co. sales team.

Schreiner has more than 35 years experience in appliance sales. He previously worked at Sears.

Danetta Held has joined the staff at DJ's Beauty Salon, 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite F.

Held recently attended a symposium in New York City and has completed additional continuing education.

She has more than three years of hair-care experience.

Douglas M. Watson has been promoted to community bank president for the Bank of Missouri's Cape Girardeau branch.

The bank announced promotions for six associates recently.

Douglas Hunt has been named senior vice president; Tracie Brewer, assistant vice president; Barbara Burnett, real estate loan officer; Dawn Crader, loan officer; and, Jane Manning, trust officer, Manning also serves as secretary of the board, administrative assistant to the chief executive officer and BSA compliance officer.

Southeast Missouri Hospital has named its medical staff officers for 1998. They are:

Dr. Randall L. Stahly, neurology, president; Dr. Paul D. Thompson, urology, vice president; and Dr. Gordon L. Haycraft, cardiology, secretary.

Stahly practices at 5 Doctors' Park. He received his D.O. from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville and completed his residency at St. Louis University. He is board-certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the National Osteopathic Boards.

Physicians named to the Southeast Missouri Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee include: Dr. R. Blaine Russell, chief of anesthesiology department; Dr. Michael A. Kolda, chief of emergency medicine department; Dr. Edwin J. Masters, chief of family practice department; Dr. Dean A. Edwards, chief of medicine department; Dr. Scott G. Pringle, chief of OB/GHN department; Dr. Mark C. Hosier, chief of pathology department; Dr. Gary S. Olson, chief of pediatrics department; Dr. Craig W. Williams, chief of radiology department; and Dr. Walter A. Schroeder, chief of surgery department.

More than 25 Cape Girardeau city employees were honored recently during an employee appreciation ceremony.

Six "Employees of the Year" were named -- Jimmy Smith and Sharee Galnore, of the Cape Girardeau Police Department; Gayle Conrad, Administrative Services; Rodney Baker, Public Works; Michael Holler, Parks & Recreation; and, Scott Altenthal, Fire Department.

Other employees were honored for 30, 25 and 20 years of services.

30 Years: Mearlin D. Allen, Fire Department captain, and Rebecca L. Figliolo, Planning Services project assistant.

25 Years: Samuel D. Light, Municipal Court bailiff; John L. Vokderding, Police, Sgt.-criminal investigation; Max L. Jauch, assistant fire chief; Thomas G. Hinkebein, fire marshal/duty officer; and Scott Altenthal, fire captain.

20-Years: Sammie L. Adams, Andrew E. Serandos, Stanley L. Turner, and Samauel L. Welker, firefighters; Rick Crites, fire captain; Mary E. Boos, project assistant with Engineering Services; Ronnie Mansker, Dennis W. Hale, Rick G. Randol, Steven R. Cook, Robert Foster and Jerry L. Pledger, all with Public Works; Carol R. Miller, cashier, police department; and Bradley E. Moore, Carla S. LaGrone and Donald R. Hellwege, all with the police department.

Ellen Terpstra has been named president and chief executive officer of the U.S.A. Rice Federation, a national trade association for the U.S. rice industry.

Terpstra has served since 1991 as president and CEO of the U.S. Apple Association.

Terpstra has extensive background in domestic policy, international trade relations and agricultural production promotion.

From 1983 to 1991, she was with the office of the U.S. trade representative where she served as trade negotiator and policy coordinator for various agricultural products.

Terpstra, a graduate of Georgetown University, will join the U.S. Rice Industry in February.
