Clay Hurst of Marble Hill, representing Farmers Insurance locally through Clay Hurst Insurance Agency Inc., has been honored by Farmers Insurance for his outstanding sales achievements during 1998.

He has been invited to attend the 1999 Topper Club convention at New Orleans, the annual meeting of Farmers' top sales producers.

J. Derieck Hodges of Cape Girardeau was recently honored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for dedication and leadership in the insurance industry.

Hodges is an agent with Albrecht-Hodges Inc. in Cape Girardeau.

Wilma Dooley, Mary Kay sales director from Jackson, recently attended the annual Mary Kay Convention at Dallas, Texas.

She was recognized for sales and was presented with a 14-karate gold diamond ring. She was also presented with the keys to her 10th company car.

Dooley held her annual awards night for her local unit at a dinner meeting at Royal N'Orleans.

She presented the annual Go-Give Award to Sue Gloth, Chaffee. Her top 10 sales women were Debbie Balsman of Perryville, Kelly Hartmann of Cape Girardeau, Sheila Hahs of Sedgewickville, Tammy Essner of Jackson, Sue Gloth of Chaffee, Brenda Dodd of Gordonville, Tammy Richardet of Perryville, Olive Bales of Poplar Bluff and Cathy Barns of St. Clair.

Thomas E. Phillips, AIA, and Pamela A. Davidson, AIA, have joined the firm of Image Architects Inc.

They will serve clients in Southeast Missouri region from the recently opened Broadway office.

Dora Johnson has joined the sales force of Thomas L. Meyer Realty in Cape Girardeau. She is originally from St. Louis and now lives with her family in the Fruitland and Jackson area.

For the last five years Johnson has worked in the Jackson School District. She is involved with Jackson Homecomers and is a member of the Jackson American Business Women's Association.

She joins the firm after completing her course of study through the Cape Girardeau School of Real Estate.

Matthew C. Smith has joined Horner and Shifrin as a CADD operator and designer. He has previous experience as a CADD operator and engineering and surveying technician.

Smith received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Survey/CADD Technology from Southeast Community College in Milford, Neb. He lives in Creve Coeur.

Richard G. Steele of Cape Girardeau was re-elected to a two-year term on the Missouri Lawyers Board of Governors.
