Kenneth W. Kenneth W. Inman, Jeff Jackson, Cathy Trentham, Howard Alexander, Dana Leming and Cheryl Huffman, with Century 21 Ashland Realty Co., recently received Masters Club honors for closing on more than 30 units during the year.

Inman and Jackson received Master Club awards and Trentham, Alexander, Leming and Huffman received Master's Club Emerald Level recognition for achieving master's honors three consecutive years.

Inman also received the Centurion "Rookie of the Year," for sales of more than $1 million. Inman has personal sales of more than $11.4 million. Leming and Inman were 1998 Centurion Producer award winner, for selling more than 60 units or $150,000 in gross closed commissions.

Shirley Meyers of Grand Chain, Ill., has joined Shawnee Development Council's (SDC) Community Care program as program manager.

The program provides homemaker services to people older than 60 in need of physical assistance with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, personal care and transportation.

SDC is headquartered at Karnak, Ill.

Howard Poston has joined the accounting firm of Schott & Van de Ven Certified Public Accountants.

Poston, a native of Cape Girardeau and graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, previously worked as a staff accountant at the public accounting firm of Maher and Associates in St. Louis.

Schott & Van de Ven at 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D, has satellite offices in Marble Hill and at Marion, Ill.

Dave Jackson has achieved the top Buick Salesmaster Award for a fifth straight year. Jackson was recently named as a Buick Motor Division Royal Purple award, for sales, customer satisfaction and knowledge of the product.

He was one of four salesmen from Van Matre Buick to receive annual national sales awards.

Alan Rickman received Professional Salesmaster status for a fourth straight year. Basil Barnes and Mark Payne each achieved first-year Professional Salesmaster status.

Dewayne Whitener and Bob Janota have joined the Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center-Missouri at its Cape Girardeau office in the Industrial Technology Building at Southeast Missouri State University.

The technology center provides hands-on technical assistance, business planning, and product development and marketing to Missouri's small and medium-sized manufacturers.

Whitener is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with work experience in manufacturing. He is an American Society for Quality certified quality engineer, manager and auditor.

Janota has worked seven years at Safety-Kleen Corp., assisting industrial manufacturers with environmental issues.

Dr. Ed Masters authored a book chapter on Lyme disease in the newly released "Primary Care," by Dr. Joanne Singleton, published by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins of Philadelphia.

Masters, whose office is at Regional Primary Care in Cape Girardeau, was also one of 20 invited scientists from five countries to attend an international conference in California, to define the new disease, "ehrlichiosis." Proceedings will be published in the Journal of American Medical Association. Masters was also a principal clinical investigator in a CDC study on the potentially fatal tick-vectored illness.

Masters, who has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Archives of Internal Medicine and the Archives of Dermatology, will lecture during a national conference in New York and will present a program at the International Lyme Borreliosis meeting in Munich, Germany in June.

Dr. Zenon M. Duda of Cape Girardeau recently attended and participated in an ankle reconstruction surgical skills course, held at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Ill.

The course, designed to provide comprehensive overview of surgery of the ankle, was sponsored by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Duda has been in practice for 17 years. His office, Cape Foot Clinic, is at 1345 Mount Auburn Road.

Earl Manning, director for the Missouri Division of Finance in the Missouri Department of Economic Development, has announce his retirement, effective March 31.

Manning joined the Division of Finance in 1962 as an assistant bank examiner. He became director in 1989.

Under Manning's leadership, the department has grown to regulate 352 state-chartered banks and financial institutions, with more than $37 billion in assets. The finance division also regulates 1,217 loan companies, 3,367 mortgage banks and 32 money order companies.

An extensive search for a new director of the finance division will start immediately. The director is appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
