BUSINESS MEMO: SPARTECH DIVIDEND

Spartech Corp. has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 5 cents a share, payable Oct. 9 to common shareholders of record Sept. 25.

Spartech, a manufacturer of engineered thermoplastic materials and polymeric compounds, recently reported record third-quarter results of $123.2 million in sales, net earnings of $6.7 million, and full diluted earnings per share of 24 cents.

Spartech, headquartered in St. Louis, has two operations in Cape Girardeau -- Spartech Plastics at 2500 Spartech Drive and Spartech Compounding on Nash Road.
