BUSINESS MEMO: SPARTECH ACQUISITION

Spartech Corp., headquartered in St. Louis, has purchased the net assets of Accura Molding Company, Ltd., a manufacturer of water purification systems and custom injection molded products.

Accura, headquartered in Brampton, Ontario, had annual sales of $11.1 million during is most recent fiscal year.

The cash purchase price for the acquisition was approximately $9.6 million.

Spartech, which has two large operations in Cape Girardeau -- Spartech Plastics at 2500 Spartech Drive, and Spartech compounding on Nash Road -- has 41 facilities with annual production capacity and sales of more than 1.2 billion pounds and $775 million, respectively.
