"New Madrid County Magazine, 1998 Edition" and "At Home: Pemiscot County" each received superior ratings during the annual "EDDY" literature competition, held during the 1998 Governor's Conference on Economic Development, held recently at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The two publications ranked among the top five community marketing magazines in the "visual excellence/practical application" category. The publications provide printed information for industrial prospects, newcomers and tourists.
It was announced earlier that the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial & Recruitment Association won an EDDY award during the Governor's Conference, in the audiovisual category, for its "A Visit to the Cape Area" video.
