Between 40 and 50 people attended one or more of the four downtown revitalization training sessions, conducted in downtown Cape Girardeau last week. Four three-hour workshops were held at the River City Yacht Club, upstairs at the Port Cape Girardeau restaurant, discussing the four areas of the Main Street program promotion, design, organization and economics.
In Cape Girardeau for the two-day workshops were Sheri Stuart of the National Main Street Center in Washington; Scott Sewell of Eclipse Communications of Topeka, Kan.; Mark Miles of the Missouri Historic Preservation Program of Jefferson City; and Randy Gray, Main Street state coordinator.
