Heartland Projects with Industry, a program that assists the severely disabled to obtain competitive employment, has been nominated for the "Outstanding Project with Industry for 1996" award.
The award is presented annually by the Inter-National Association of Business, Industry and Rehabilitation (I-NABIR).
Heartland Projects with Industry is headquartered at Murphysboro, Ill., and has offices in nine area communities, including Anna and Carbondale, Ill. Southeast Missouri offices are at Cape Girardeau, Scott City and Sikeston. The Western Kentucky office is at Paducah.
The group, founded in 1983, has placed more than 1,500 people into competitive jobs. Heartland provides services at no cost to the consumer or employer. Additional information is available by calling (618)-684-5601.
