Kohlfeld Distributing Inc., wholesalers of beer and non-alcoholic beverages throughout Southeast Missouri, has announced the purchase of Ozark Beverage Co. of Poplar Bluff.
Ozark Beverage has been owned and operated by Tommy Clarkson of Poplar Bluff since 1979 and serves parts of seven counties in Southeast Missouri. Ozark currently represents eight brewers, including Coors and Pabst/Stroh, and 55 brands of beer.
The Kohlfeld family has been in the beer business since 1948. The company was founded by Leo Kohlfeld, who is still active in the business. The Kohlfeld Companies will now operate distribution centers in Marston, Poplar Bluff and Jackson, representing 16 domestic, import and micro breweries and 12 non-alcoholic beverage suppliers.
