A three-day Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association (IGGVA) conference will be held in Southern Illinois Tuesday through Thursday.

The conference, to be held at Alto Pass Vineyards and Giant City Park near Makanda, will feature workshops, tastings, banquet and auction of Illinois wines and specialty items from throughout the state.

Three wineries are located in Southern Illinois -- Alto Vineyards at Alto Pass; Owl Creek Winery and Vineyards, and the Pomona Winery.

"We expect people from throughout Illinois and neighboring states," said George Majka of the Pomonoa Winery.

A five-course feast, with each course featuring one or two Illinois wines, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Giant City Lodge. The auction of wines will follow the banquet.
