The Holiday Inn Express at Paducah, Ky., has received the Torchbearer Award for overall quality, customer service and profitability.
The facility, owned by Midamerica Hotels Corp., headquartered in Cape Girardeau, is one only 78 properties selected from the Bass Hotels and Resorts System of 2,600 hotels in 90 countries, for high standards of excellence in quality and operation.
Dan Drury and Karla Drury of Midamerica Hotels Corp. and Mike Burger, general manager of the Holiday Inn Express at Paducah, were in New Orleans to accept the award during the annual Bass Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Conference. More than 2,800 franchise owners and company officials attended the conference.
The Holiday Inn Express won the Newcomer of the Year during its first year of operation, and in 1997, it received the Priority Club People's Choice Award for "Best Holiday Inn Express Worldwide."
