M&W Packaging Inc. has received the 1999 "Golden Cylinder" Award, presented by the Gravure Association of America Inc.
M&W was selected from 30 entries in the Packaging Film category, for a Chief's Choice Steak Ranchero Stand-up Pouch.
M&W was recognized for achieving photographic level quality, high quality vignettes and dot-on-dot registration, as well as the use of both spot and process color.
Other M&W awards
M&W has also received top recognition in the 1999 Excellence Awards Competition from "Package Printing and Converting" Magazine, winning the top three positions and an honorable mention in the Flexible Packaging Film/Foil Flexo-Gravure category.
M&W received first, second and third, respectively, for Loft's Seed's Deluxe Sun and Shade, Sea Coast Foods' Steak Ranchero and Nature's Earth Products' All Pet Pine. Pennington Seed's Sun Flower Family received an honorable mention. This marks the second year that M&W has swept the top three awards in same category.
The award-winning packages were produced in the 200,000 square foot M&W plant north of Cape Girardeau. M&W Packaging, headquartered in Jackson, specializes in co-ex films, rotogravure printing and flexible packaging for a wide range of industrial and consumer product manufacturers. The company is a subsidiary of Nordenia International, a global packaging manufacturer located in Greven, Germany.
