Members of the Aid Association of Lutherans (AAL) Branch 1621 of Jackson, have received a Gold Star rating by the fraternal benefit society in recognition of volunteer service to the community.
AAL's branches are rated in several performance categories. To achieve the Gold Star rating, branches must sponsor at least one AAL fundraiser or work project, conduct at least 12 meetings, and sponsor at least one educational activity within a year.
Officers of the Jackson branch are Darrel Seabaugh, president; Judith Holmes, vice president, and Melody Hagans, secretary.
AAL, headquartered at Appleton, Wis., offers volunteer service opportunities and insurance products to its 1.7 million members nationwide. It has a total of 9,152 branches.
