Missouri selected its "Exporter of the Year" last weekend during the 40th annual Governor's Conference on Economic Development, held at Lake of Ozarks.

Hagale Industries, of Ozark, was honored as "Exporter of the Year."

Missouri exports reached an all-time high in 1997, at 7.6 billion, up 21 percent over 1996 totals.

More than 140,000 Missouri jobs are supported by sales to world markets.

The St. Louis Regional and Growth Association received two awards for cities over 50,000 populations, for Business Attractions and Business Expansion and Retention.

Moberly won two awards for cities under 25,000, for Business Expansion and Attractions, and Community Economic Development Preparedness.
