BUSINESS MEMO: DANA EARNS QUALITY AWARD

Dana's Cape Girardeau Light Axle Facility has earned a Missouri Facet of Excellence honor from the state.

The Dana facility is one of four organizations to receive the quality award. The Cape Girardeau facility was recognized for its work systems. The plant has created a unique four-shift, seven-day operation that gives employees multiple responsibilities. The result is a flexible, adaptive system that helps to ensure all work tasks are covered.

The local plant manufactures a variety of axle products and related components for internal operations that supply original equipment, vehicle manufactures, including Daimler/Chrysler, Ford, Isuzu and Land Rover."We are pleased to have been recognized as a Facet of Excellence award winner," said Dave Blanchard, plant manager, who is on special assignment at the Spicer Light Axle Group division offices in Fort Wayne, Ind.
