Illinois casinos attracted 1.9 million visitors and reported $87.7 million in revenues.
Visitor totals were up 3 percent from June 1997 but down almost 6 percent form the more than 2 million of a month ago. Revenues were up 7 percent from June 1997 but down 5.6 percent from May 1998.
Illinois revenues leaders for June were Grand Victoria Casino at Elgin, with 303,541 visitors and $20.2 million revenues; Harrah's at Joliet, 263,000 admissions and $12.9 million; and City Lights at Aurora, 268 admissions and $12.7 million.
The southernmost casino in the state, Players International at Metropolis, reported 166,468 admissions and revenues of $6.2 million.
In Missouri, casinos attracted 3.2 million visitors, down from the 3.4 million in May. The casinos brought in $67.8 million, down from the $71.8 million a month earlier.
Missouri revenue leaders for June were Harrah's Mardi Gras Casino of Kansas City with $6.6 million, followed by Kansas City Station, at $5.9 million.
