Boatmen's Bancshares Inc. reported an 8.5 percent increase in third-quarter, 1995, net income.
Net income earnings for the quarter were $110.6 million, or 86 cents per common share, compared with $102 million and 79 cents per common share during the same quarter in 1994.
Return on assets for the quarter was 1.34 percent and return on equity was 15.77 percent, compared with 1.29 percent and 16.03 percent respectively for the same quarter a year ago.
Net income rose 7 percent for the first nine months of 1995, at $325.1 million, or $2.53 per share, from $303.6 million, or $2.36 per share.
Boatmen's Bancshares, with assets of $33.4 billion, is one of the 30 largest U.S. bank holding companies, operating at more than 500 sites in nine states, including banks Cape Girardeau and Jackson.
