"Sustaining People Through Agriculture" is the theme for the Missouri Department of Agriculture-University of Missouri-Columbia Agriculture Conference, to be held this weekend.

A number of guest speakers will address the conference, including Harold Volkmer, a former U.S. representative and chair of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Small Farms Commission. Volkmer will be keynote speaker at the Friday banquet and will address the topic, "USDA and the Land Grant Universities: Are they meeting the needs of families on small farms?"
