A.G. Edwards has been named as one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America."
Edwards, one of two retail brokerage firms on the 1999 list, is ranked 37th. This marks the third time that Edwards has been included on the list.
"We're honored to be included on the Fortune list," said Benjamin F. Edwards III, company chairman.
Marsha Limbaugh, branch manager of the Cape Girardeau office, added: "A third mention on the list compiled by such a prestigious business magazine as Fortune makes our inclusion in the 1998 list especially gratifying."
Fortune compiled its list through interviews with more than 20,000 randomly selected employees at numerous companies throughout the country.
The first "100 Best Companies" was compiled by best-selling authors Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz in 1984.
