The recent Missouri Department of Economic Development's trade mission to Africa generated millions of dollars in projected sales and produced more than 300 leads for future sales.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development led the delegation to Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and to Accra, Ghana. The delegation traveled to sub-Saharan Africa to encourage business development specifically related to infrastructure and the medical and environmental industries.

The mission included representatives from the University of Missouri-Columbia, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Missouri Department of Agriculture and a diversity of businesses.

Corporate representation included Agricultural Bagging Service from the Southeast Missouri port near Cape Girardeau.
