Nine of 10 television viewers around the world tuned in to at least part of last summer's Atlanta Olympics, making the Centennial Games the most watched sports event in TV history.
Out of a potential global audience of 3.5 billion viewers, more than 3.2 billion people tuned in to watch some of the games, according to the IOC's "Olympic Broadcast Analysis Report."
The gross cumulative audience for the 17-day games, which were broadcast in a record 214 countries and territories, reached 19.6 billion -- 18 percent higher than for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
