Two agents of Farmers Insurance Group have moved their office to Town Plaza Shopping Center.
"We needed more space and the new location gives us better parking," said Steve Brazil, who with Jim Robison operates the new office at 47 S. Plaza Way.
"We moved from 13 Broadway," said Brazil, who has been with Farmers Group for five years. Robison has been with the agency for three years.
Farmers Insurance Group offers auto, home, commercial and life insurance.

The Small Business Development Center at Southeast Missouri State University will conduct sessions for owners of area small businesses and those planning business ventures. Sessions will be held at Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Perryville and Malden.
Gil Degenhardt will conduct the counseling sessions, scheduled for about one hour each. There is no fee.
The Cape Girardeau sessions will be held at the Chamber of Commerce office, 601 N. Kingshighway, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22. For appointments call 335-3312.
Sikeston sessions are scheduled July 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 1 Industrial Drive. Call 471-2498 for appointments.
Perryville sessions will be held July 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission office, 1 W. St. Joseph. Appointments are available by calling 547-8357.
Malden sessions will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Malden Community Center, 607 Douglas. Appointments are available by calling 276-4519.

Associate Circuit Judge Benjamin S. Lewis was the winner of the Convention and Visitors Bureau's recent recipe contest. He received a $50 savings bond.
Lewis' "Wild Goose Parmesan" was judged the best of the 15 over-all winners. More than 50 entries were received. The 15 top recipes will be published in a book.

Rental Land Inc., 1922 Independence, has been appointed a registered service dealer of Tecumseh Products Co., Engine and Transmission Group Service Division.
Tecumseh, headquartered in Grafton, Wis., produces two- and four-cycle gasoline engines and power train components used by a number of manufacturers of power lawn and garden equipment, recreational vehicles and industrial equipment.
Rental Land will service all Tecumseh and Peerless power train products and carry a full line of service parts.
Carl Farrar, service manager at Rental Land, will supervise Tecumseh repairs.

CARBONDALE, Ill. Plans call for a 196,615-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter to be constructed on the northeast corner of East Main and Giant City Road in Carbondale.
Wal-Mart had earlier announced it was building a 121,000-square-foot store. The Carbondale City Council, which already had approved a development plan for the smaller store, will consider the larger store at its July 21 session.
The closest supercenter to Carbondale is in Cape Girardeau.

Machine Maintenance and Equipment Co. of St. Louis has purchased some assets of Case Power and Equipment Co. of Fenton and Cape Girardeau.
Both facilities had been a distributor for Case Corp., a division of Tenneco, which is a manufacturer of construction and utility equipment.
The 18-year-old Machine Maintenance and Equipment will distribute Case products in Southern Illinois and Eastern Missouri, along with other products for the construction, drilling, mining and environmental markets. The company also represents Gardner-Denver, Ingersoll-Rand, Kawasaki, REX, Fiatallis and GEFCO lines.

MARQUAND Yemm & Hart Ltd. of Marquand recently participated in a two-day Buy Recycled Products Trade Fair and Showcase in Washington, D.C.
Yemm & Hart displayed furniture manufactured of high density polyethylene and other items made from recently-discovered materials.
