Glik Stores, headquartered in Granite City, Ill., recently opened a $10 and Less and a Glik's in Regency Plaza in St. Charles.
The 3,000-square-foot Glik's offers women's and men's brandname fashion apparel. The 2,500-square-foot $10 and Less store carries women's and men's fashion sportswear priced at $10 or less.
Glik Stores operates a total of 34 stores in Illinois and Missouri, including one at West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau.

The Small Business Development Center at Southeast Missouri State University will conduct sessions for area small-business persons and individuals planning business ventures. Sessions will be held at Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Dexter, Malden and Perryville.
Gil Degenhardt will conduct the counseling sessions, which will last for approximately one hour each. There is no charge.
The Cape Girardeau sessions will be held at the Chamber of Commerce office, 601 N. Kingshighway, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 29. Persons may call 335-3312 for appointments.
Sikeston sessions are scheduled April 28 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 1 Industrial Drive. Call 471-2498 for appointments.
Dexter sessions will be held at the Dexter Chamber of Commerce office in the Southern Savings and Loan Building, Highway 60, Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. Call 624-7458 for appointments.
Perryville sessions will be held April 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission office, 1 West St. Joseph. Appointments are available by calling 547-8357.

Venture Stores is teaming up with Fisher-Price for an Easter Seal Society benefit project.
Starting Sunday, Venture will donate 25 cents to Easter Seals for every pair of Fisher-Price shoes purchased in Venture's 91 stores.
The weeklong program will include visits by clowns and balloons and candy for children.
The local Venture store is in West Park Mall.

POCAHONTAS Pocahontas Meat Processing Inc. recently won two awards at the Missouri State Meat Processors convention in Hannibal.
"We received the grand champion award for smoked links and reserve champion award for liver sausage," said Wayne Pfeiffer, owner of the company.
Also attending the meeting were Randy Lichtenegger and Richard Winter of the meat processing firm.
The firm, which does custom meat processing and freezing, also prepares sausage and halves and quarters of meat for sale.
