The Small Business Development Center of Southeast Missouri State University will conduct sessions for people planning business ventures.

The counselor, Gil Degenhardt, will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, 1267 N. Mount Auburn Road. Call 335-3312 for an appointment.

Degenhardt will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Southeast Regional Planning Commission, 1 W. St. Joseph, Perryville, Mo. Call (573) 547-8357 for an appointment. The free counseling sessions last about an hour.

Delta Research Center Field Day set for Sept. 2

Agricultural scientists will present the results of their latest research at the University of Missouri Delta Research Center Field Day on Sept. 2.

The field day at the center's farm near Portageville, Mo., begins at 9 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m., with research tours and a break for lunch. The free lunch will be served in the air-conditioned comfort of "Son" Rone Hall at Lee Farm, which is 8 miles southeast of Portageville at the intersection of highways T and TT.
