__CENTURY 21 GETS J.D. POWER RECOGNITION__

Century 21 Real Estate LLC received four customer satisfaction awards in the annual J.D. Power 2015 Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction Study, according to a news release. Specifically, the Century 21 brand swept the awards for the second year in a row by receiving the highest ranking among national real estate firms across all four customer satisfaction segments in the study, including first-time homebuyer satisfaction, repeat homebuyer satisfaction, first-time home-seller satisfaction and repeat home-seller satisfaction, the release said. Local offices include Century 21 Premiere Realty in Sikeston, Missouri, and Century 21 Ashland Realty in Cape Girardeau, both owned by Tim Merideth.

__LOCAL HOLIDAY INN RECEIVES TORCHBEARER AWARD__

The Holiday Inn Express in Cape Girardeau received the InterContinental Hotels Group 2015 Torchbearer Award, the company's most prestigious award, according to a news release. The Torchbearer Award was presented during the recent 2015 IHG Americas Owners Conference in San Francisco. The Holiday Inn Express in Cape Girardeau is one of only 73 American properties chosen from the IHG system of more than 4,900 hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation, the release said. A 2015 Torchbearer trophy will be on permanent display at the hotel. This is the 10th consecutive year the hotel has received recognition for service. The recognitions include five Torchbearer Awards that Karla Clifton and her staff have won since opening the hotel in June 2005.

__BAKERY OPENS IN LEADINGTON__

LEADINGTON, Mo. -- The Park Hills-Leadington Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Krak-N-Jaks Bakery & Doughnuts, a new business at 30 Woodlawn Drive, in the Leadington Plaza. Brandy Worley and Markus Clinton own the bakery.

__SHOE SENSATION COMING TO SIKESTON__

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Shoe Sensation will open a new store this fall in Sikeston, the Standard Democrat reported. The store, which will open in November at 1305 Main St., will be the company's 11th store in Missouri and its 123rd across the Midwest and South.

__CATO OPENS STORE IN FARMINGTON__

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Cato opened its newest store Oct. 22 in Farmington, the Park Hills Daily Journal reported. The new store is in the Maple Valley shopping complex adjacent to Schnucks, at 936 Valley Creek Drive. Cato is a specialty retailer of value-priced women's fashion apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories. Catana West of Farmington will manage the new store. The Cato Corporation has more than 1,300 stores in 32 states. There are 38 Cato stores in Missouri.

__THRIVENT FINANCIAL TO OPEN NEW CAPE OFFICE__

Linda Bauwens, David Theiss and Joseph Bauwens of Thrivent Financial announced they are opening a new office at 2907 Independence St., Suite E, in Cape Girardeau, according to a news release from Thrivent. The three are financial representatives for Thrivent's Kansas/Missouri Regional Financial Office in Overland Park, Kansas.

__AGING MATTERS TO RELOCATE IN CAPE GIRARDEAU__

Aging Matters relocated its main operation office in Cape Girardeau, according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker at Lorimont Place Ltd., who handled the lease transaction. Kelsey said the company leased a 7,500-square-foot office space at 1078 Wolverine, which is the West Outer Road along Interstate 55, just south of Highway 74. The agency previously was at 1219 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. The new location gives them expanded space for all of their programs and personnel, the release stated.

__BOLLINGER COUNTY CHAMBER ADDS MEMBERS__

The Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce added the following new members: BSL Metal Works LLC of Marble Hill, Missouri; Henry Jordan's Masonry LLC of Marble Hill; Huff's Café of Patton, Missouri; and Roadside Grill of Marble Hill.

__CHOCOLATE WORKS TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN CAPE__

Construction is underway at Chocolate Works at 411 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. The store, owned by Dr. Sonjay Fonn and Deborah Seeger, will feature everything from a chocolate fountain to ice cream to a room for candy-making parties. Chocolate Works will make items from dark, milk and white chocolates. Store manager Haley Urhahn said they also plan to hold weekly workshops on subjects such as how to make caramel apples and chocolate. The main area will feature a retail space with tables for people to enjoy Graeter's ice cream, specialty coffees and other treats. Outdoor seating will be available during nice weather. Urhahn said they plan to get a liquor license after the store has been open a few months so events such as wine and chocolate tastings can be held in the party room. Seeger said they decided to open the franchise after sampling the company's signature chocolate truffle at a franchising event.

__ISLE CLOSES CASINO IN MISSISSIPPI__

Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. closed its Natchez, Mississippi, casino and completed its sale of nongaming assets to Casino Holding Investment Partners LLC, the company announced Oct. 19. Isle of Capri owns casinos in Missouri, including Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, as well as casinos in Louisiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Florida.

__BALDWIN TOYOTA COMPLETES REMODEL__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Baldwin Toyota recently completed remodeling of its showroom, customer lounge and service and parts areas, the Daily American Republic reported. All sales personnel now have module office areas, and the exterior of the building also has a new look and lighting.

__SUPER 8 UNDERGOES RENOVATION__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Super 8 Motel in Poplar Bluff is undergoing renovations, including a new exterior paint job and a remodeled lobby and breakfast area, the Daily American Republic reported. Guest rooms are also being renovated with new bed coverings, paint, countertops and artwork.

__NEW LOCATION FOR CYPRESS CREEK__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Cypress Creek Motorsports' new location at 3450 Kanell Blvd. in Poplar Bluff.

__KONA ICE UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP__

KONA Ice is now owned by Jason and Stacie Coleman through Coleman Investments LLC. SEMO KONA Ice LLC previously was owned by Courtni Stephens. She sold the northern Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, territory in March, and the Colemans purchased the remaining territory, which includes Cape Girardeau, Jackson and the surrounding areas. The transaction was facilitated by Murphy Business of Cape Girardeau.
