KENNETT -- Bazzell & Wilder, the John Deere dealership in Kennett, has expanded its operations with the acquisition of Piggott Tractor and Equipment Co. in Piggott, Ark.

Harry Bazzell and John Wilder acquired the John Deere dealership in Piggott recently.

"I don't plan to make any changes," Bazzell said, adding that the 14 employees, many of whom have been with Piggott Tractor and Equipment for years, will remain. The dealership will continue operating under the same name.

Bobby Shanklin, of Piggott, will continue as the general manager of the dealership, according to Bazzell.

Bazzell's son, Jeff, assistant manager of the dealership in Kennett, said the acquisition will help the farm equipment dealership to better serve its customers in both Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas.
