Taylor's Greenville 66 station is one of 48 service stations across Missouri that have paid fines for price gouging. The businesses inflated gasoline prices following terrorist attacks Sept. 11. The 48 retailers will pay more than $60,000 in penalties and costs.

Taylor's Greenville 66 will pay a $1,280 fine, according to a press release from the Attorney General's Office. The $1,280 fine includes $250 that will go to the state to cover investigative costs. The rest of the money will go to the school fund in Wayne County. The agreement, which will be submitted to the circuit court, also prohibits the station from further violations of the law.

Other stations in the region that were fined include Abney Tire & Lube in Virburnum, $1,000; Brown Citgo in Potosi, $1,000; Duncan's Mobil in Doe Run, $4,174.33; Stricklin's Convenience Store in Arcadia, $1,550; and Williams' Apco in Bismarck, $1,000.
