LETTERS: RESOLVED: TO ACHIEVE GOALS WE SET

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

It is so easy to make a resolution at the end of a year or at the beginning of a year. Still, at this time it is salutary to measure where one is and to make declarations of one's intentions, either to get rid of bad habits and to try to make certain corrections as one tries to improve oneself or may try to set new goals.

However, these resolutions mean little if they are not taken seriously. In Spanish there is a saying: "Quien quiere celeste, que le cueste." (He who wants the best must pay the price.) Better or improved quality will require greater effort and dedication. "Let it be resolved" seems to be more definite or conclusive. May the New Year bring us greater satisfaction in achieving the goals we set for ourselves.
