LETTERS: BARS CAN HELP PROMOTE SAFE DRIVING

To the editor:

Thanks to the Missourian for its strong stand opposing drinking and riving. Even one alcohol-related injury or fatality is too many.

Bars serving alcohol might do their part to promote driver sobriety by offering their customers the use of a Breathalyzer. For those who fail the test and are not accompanied by a sober designated driver, the bar might call a taxi. A program like this should be voluntary, although it is likely if is offered by one establishment that others will follow suit.

Drunk driving endangers everyone.
