It helps to learn more about SID

To the editor:

In response to the story "Sensory integration dysfunction: An unseen, misunderstood disability": SID is misunderstood. It's difficult to understand. My son received occupational therapy three years ago for SID. I found little information concerning it then. Now it's gaining recognition. There's a book titled "The Out-of-Sync Child" by Carol Stock Kranowitz. This book gives a great explanation of SID for parents. As a parent, that makes me feel better knowing that it's being understood and talked about more. The unknown is becoming known. Hats off to you for writing about sensory integration dysfunction. You and the families you wrote about are making it known and helping others.
