Mickelson won in 2000, finishing with a 63 for a two-stroke victory over Davis Love III and Stewart Cink. ... Senior stars Tom Watson, Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw are in the field. Watson won the 1998 tournament for the last of his 34 PGA Tour titles. Crenshaw, a two-time Colonial winner, is making his record 32nd appearance. Kite has made the cut in all 29 of his Colonial starts, a tournament record. ... The Memorial is next week in Dublin, Ohio, followed by the Kemper Insurance Open in Potomac, Md.

LAST YEAR: Tiger Woods won the tournament for the second time in three years, beating New Zealand's Michael Campbell by four strokes. Woods holed a 175-yard shot in the final round for his fifth eagle of the tournament.

LAST WEEK: Argentina's Angel Cabrera won the Benson and Hedges International, beating England's Barry Lane by a stroke at The Belfry in England.

NOTES: Woods is making his fourth appearance in the event. He finished third last week in the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Classic, his first start since winning the Masters. ... John Daly is coming off a ninth-place tie in the Benson and Hedges. He won the BMW International last year in Munich. ... The tour will be in England the next three weeks for the Volvo PGA, British Masters and English Open.

LAST YEAR: Germany's Tina Fischer won the inaugural tournament for her first LPGA Tour title, holding off Emilee Klein and Tracy Hanson by a stroke.

LAST WEEK: Annika Sorenstam won the Aerus Electrolux USA Championship in Franklin, Tenn., beating Pat Hurst by a stroke. Sorenstam matched the course record with her closing 64 and broke the tournament mark with a 17-under 271 total.

NOTES: Sorenstam has 34 LPGA Tour victories. She has won three times in seven starts this year and also took the Australian Masters in her lone international appearance. ... Twelve-year-old Hawaiian star Michelle Wie and 15-year-old Japanese player Shinobu Moromizato received sponsor exemptions. Wie missed the cut in the season-opening Takefuji Classic after becoming the youngest Monday qualifier in tour history.
