Weather could cause a problem, but Southeast Missouri State University's baseball team is looking forward to a big three-game weekend series against Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Illinois.
The squads are scheduled to play a 4 p.m. doubleheader today at Capaha Park, with a 1 p.m. single game set for Sunday.
Capaha's field was covered during Friday's heavy rains, but more rain is expected today.
Southeast needs a strong showing this weekend in order to climb in the OVC standings. The Indians, 8-18 overall, are 3-6 in conference play. They've won one of three games against each of their first three league opponents.
"It's a big series for us, no doubt about it," said Southeast coach Mark Hogan.
Although the Indians have lost four of their last five games, they showed considerable spark during two competitive non-league losses at nationally-ranked Oklahoma State earlier this week. The Tribe lost to the Cowboys 9-7 and 10-5.
