If two practice-round shots are any indication, the Cape Central Tigers golf team appears ready for the upcoming high school season.

On two occasions in the past week, Tiger golfers have been perfect as both sophomore Walter Lents and senior Nick Harter recorded holes-in-one at Cape Girardeau Country Club. The aces were the first for each golfer both wielded 8-irons to perform the feats.

"We've probably had three in the last 25 years I've been here and to have two in one week is real unusual," said Cape Central coach Dick Wadlington.

Lents performed the feat Thursday on No. 8, a 35-yard par 3. Witnesses to the shot were Chris Cole, Justin Wells and Tyler Thompson.

Harter holed out on Tuesday on the 155-yard sixth hole. Witnesses were Paul York, Luke Oliver and Todd Obergoenner.

The Tigers open their season March 21 with a dual meet against Sikeston.
