Authorities looking to arrest Kobe Bryant on a sexual assault charge also wanted to charge him with false imprisonment, according to a copy of the newly unsealed arrest warrant. The documents that were released by a judge contain few details but provide a glimpse into how authorities put together their case.

College

Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed a warrant seeking the extradition of former Baylor basketball player Carlton Dotson from Maryland. Dotson is accused of murder in the death of Patrick Dennehy, his former teammate. Dotson has been indicted by a McLennan County grand jury and the district attorney's office asked Perry to seek his return from his home state. The formal extradition request was sent to Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich.

An autopsy failed to determine the cause of the death of former Michigan State football captain Brian Ottney. Ottney, 23, had a seizure and died early Monday morning in Long Beach, Calif.

Toledo football coach Tom Amstutz, who has led the Rockets to two straight bowl appearances in his first two seasons, agreed to a two-year contract extension.

Lawyer Milloy agreed to sign with the Buffalo Bills, a day after being cut by the New England Patriots. Milloy was released by the Patriots for salary-cap reasons on Tuesday. The move created a stir, in part because Milloy was a team leader and had started 106 consecutive games over his seven NFL seasons.

Priest Holmes agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Chiefs. The star running back, who has led the NFL in yards from scrimmage the past two seasons, added four years to the three years he already has under contract.

Golf

Tickets for the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in Far Hills, N.J., are sold out -- the 18th straight year the tournament is a sellout. The public was able to submit ticket applications between June 16 and Aug. 15, and a computerized drawing was completed Aug. 28. The string of sellouts started with the 1987 U.S. Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Hockey

New York Rangers goalie Mike Richter, the team's career victories leader, will announce his retirement today, according to published reports.

Left wing Kristian Huselius re-signed with the Florida Panthers, agreeing to a two-year contract. In just his second NHL season, Huselius was third on the team with 43 points last season, including 20 goals.

The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed center Josef Vasicek to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not announced.

The Phoenix Coyotes unveiled sweeping changes to their logo and uniforms, at the same time saying they'll retain the name of Arizona's biggest city even though they move into a suburban arena in December.

Track and field

U.S. sprinter Kelli White will not be suspended from track meets for taking a stimulant but still could be stripped of the two gold medals she won at the World Championships. The IAAF will review White's medical records Monday and decide whether she committed a doping offense. White tested positive for the stimulant modafinil after winning the 100 meters at the worlds on Aug. 24. White said she used the prescription drug for the sleep disorder narcolepsy.
