ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to one-year contracts with outfielder So Taguchi and pitcher Mike Myers, the club announced Wednesday.
Taguchi will earn $550,000 plus performance bonuses. Myers agreed to $600,000.
Taguchi, 35, returns to the Cardinals after batting .291 with 26 runs and 25 RBI in 109 games for the club last season. Taguchi, who arrived from Japan in 2002, has spent three seasons with the Cardinals. He has batted .290 in 171 career games with the club.
Myers, a left-hander, started the 2004 season with Seattle before Boston acquired him in August. He ranked sixth in the American League with 75 appearances out of the bullpen and combined to go 5-1 with a 4.64 ERA between Seattle and Boston. Myers, 35, has made more appearances than any pitcher in baseball since 1996, his first full major league season.
Myers played five postseason games for Boston, none of them in the World Series against the Cardinals.
