The Notre Dame girls basketball team led St. Joseph's Academy for one half Friday night but could not finish the job against the perennial state power.

St. Joseph's of Frontenac, Mo., outscored the Bulldogs 40-22 in the second half for a 63-46 victory.

The Bulldogs led 24-23 at halftime and trailed 41-35 after three periods.

Meridith Medlin led the Bulldogs (7-4) with 18 points.
