BENTON, Mo. -- First-time winners swept the card Saturday at Auto Tire and Parts Racepark.
Alex Shanks darted past leader Andy Holden with five laps to go to win in the sprint class. Tommy Worley Jr. followed Shanks past Holden and tried several times to take the lead, but could never get past the Marion, Ill., racer. Worley finished second and Holden third.
Brent Thompson led all but the first three laps of the open-wheel modified feature race. Thompson, of Farmington, Mo., led Robert Powers and Joe Geisler for the win.
Greg Casey of Sikeston, Mo., won in the most dramatic finish of the night, in the pure street class. Casey moved into the lead when the left rear wheel rim broke on the first-place car of Billy Hopkins; Jared Wagster drove into second with Tim Cater third.
Travis and Darren McFall won for the first time in the cruiser division. Scott Austin and Darrell Hamm crossed the finish line first, but their win was negated after they refused to honor a claim made on their car.
