BENTON, Mo. -- Shawn King, Chris Hall and Mike Abney each won for the first time this season Saturday at Auto Tire and Parts Racepark.

King, of Cape Girardeau, swept the sprint division by winning his heat race, the dash and the 25-lap feature race. King led every lap of the feature, holding off a charge by newcomer Bobby Hawks of Springfield, Ill., in the final laps. Robbie Standridge was third.

Former Indianapolis 500 qualifier Jimmy Kite, driving for local car owner Joe Reddick, finished 10th in his first appearance at the track.

Hall, of Sikeston, Mo., moved from third to first in the final two laps to win the open-wheel modified feature race. Danny Sissom, Jeff Parmer and Terry Johnson took turns at the front before Hall made the winning pass. Johnson was second and Gary Geiler third.

Abney led Henry Nash and Terry James to win for the first time in the limited late model class.

Billy Hopkins of Caruthersville, Mo., led Cline Myers Jr. and Ron Lacy for his second straight win in pure stocks.
