Mora 'closes book' on postgame tirade

INDIANAPOLIS -- A day after Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning griped publicly about coach Jim Mora's Sunday tirade, Mora called the matter "a closed book."

With the Colts (4-6) facing their second three-game losing streak of the season amid fading playoff hopes, Mora asked his players not to talk to reporters about the rift when they gathered around him after practice Thursday.

Mora said he and Manning resolved any hard feelings when they spoke Thursday.

"I approached Peyton. I just said, 'Hey, let's go sit down and talk.' That was it. We had a good talk," said Mora, who declined to detail the conversation.

Manning made his uncharacteristic public comments about Mora on Wednesday, saying he was embarrassed and upset that Mora had made a public critique of the Colts' 40-21 loss against San Francisco.

Glenn's stormy Patriot days may be over

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The nameplate and nearly all belongings were gone from wide receiver Terry Glenn's locker Thursday after the New England Patriots suspended him for one game.

"It's a disciplinary matter, not injury-related," coach Bill Belichick said. Glenn, sidelined the last six games by a hamstring injury that Belichick said has improved, was at practice Wednesday but did not participate in the full-team workout.

"We've been down this road before," Belichick said in citing a team rule against disclosing details of suspensions.

The only item in Glenn's locker Thursday was an ankle brace. Shoulder pads were on top of the locker. The blue nameplate was missing from its usual slot.

Glenn has played in one game this season and has been at odds with the team over its decision to withhold $8.5 million of an $11 million signing bonus. Five grievances brought by Glenn -- including one seeking his bonus -- are unresolved. He also faces criminal charges of assaulting the mother of his son.

He missed the first four games after the NFL suspended him for violating its substance abuse policy. The Patriots tried to suspend him for the season for leaving training camp after learning of the league suspension but an arbitrator ruled against them.
