The Southeast Missouri State track and field team followed its sweep at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships with a limited team competing at the Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier in Emporia, Kansas, on Saturday.

The Redhawks claimed four event wins in the meet.

Prenecia Ponds and Ayonna Cartwright took first and second in the 100-meter dash with times of 11.84 and 11.98 seconds, respectively. Ponds also posted a win in the 200-meter dash in 24.67 seconds.

Jessica Brown won the women's long jump with a distance of 6.01 meters and Blake Carter won the men's long jump with a jump of 7.58 meters.

Central graduate and Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year Chris Martin finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 15.81 meters.

Seth Sievers throw of 54.67 meters in the hammer throw was good for second place and Shon Kyle finished third in the shot put with a throw of 16.7 meters.

Members of the Southeast track and field team will compete at two separate meets next weekend with some of the team competing at the Louisville Twilight on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky, and some competing at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday.
