Jackson senior basketball standout Bobby Clark is the Southeast Missourian Player of the Week.
Clark led the No. 5 seed Indians to an upset of No. 4 seed Charleston in the opening round of the SEMO Conference before he and his teammates eventually claimed the third place trophy with a win over Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-5 post player poured in 20 points against Charleston in a 65-56 victory.
"We handled their pressure well up front," Clark told the Missourian after the game. "Zach [McDowell] and Caleb [Newcomer] did a real good job of getting the ball down the court and handling their pressure. We knew if we got it into our half-court game, we would have some success."
Jackson used an 8-0 run in the second have to stifle a Charleston run.
"To win the ballgame you have to weather the storm and you have to answer them a couple times," Clark said. "They made a little run and we answered them, and that was the game right there."
Clark led all scorers with 15 points in Jackson's semifinal loss to No. 1 seed and eventual tournament champion Sikeston before adding seven points in the Indian's 46-40 win over Notre Dame for third place.
