Ninth-seeded Oran had no trouble eliminating the No. 16 Delta Bobcats from the Southeast Missourian Christmas tournament in a consolation quarterfinal on Saturday at the Show Me Center.
The Eagles rolled to an 89-17 rout behind double-figure scoring performances from three players.
Jacob Priggel led Oran with 20 while Hunter Schlosser added 19 and Max Priggel chipped in 10.
"I thought we played hard for most, or part of, the ballgame," Oran coach Joe Shoemaker said. "We still have to make some adjustments on some things defensively. I thought we communicated better and was in sync a little more."
The Eagles rebounded from a two-point loss to No. 8 Scott City late Friday night and quickly jumped out to a 22-4 lead after the first quarter against Delta.
They took a 49-11 lead into halftime after a 3-pointer by Garrison Mangels at the buzzer.
Oran outscored Delta 25-2 in the third and 15-4 in the final eight minutes of running clock.
"I thought they did better than I anticipated," Shoemaker said of refocusing following Friday's loss. "I was a little concerned about coming out flat and having to play today after last night playing late. They did fine with it."
Oran advanced to face No. 13 Kelly at noon Monday.
"Come out and take care of business. I guess that's the best way to look at it," Shoemaker said of his team's performance Saturday. "We'll practice tomorrow and try to improve some more, and then prepare for the next round."
