Senior Josie Long averaged 21.6 points over three games in helping the Woodland girls basketball team to its first Lady Devils Invitational title last week.

Long scored 18 points in the Cardinals' 44-38 win over Oran in the championship game. She also netted 18 in a 40-29 win over East Prairie in the semifinals after scoring 29 in a first-round win against Puxico.

At week's end, the 5-foot-10 guard/forward was averaging 25 points for the Cardinals, who were 5-0.

Long was a Class 3 second-team all-state choice as a junior after averaging 21.2 points, 10 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
