Southeast Missouri State gymnast Alyssa Tucker was selected as the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week for the second week in a row after posting a career-high 39.125 to win the all-around competition at Oklahoma on Friday.

"Once again, Alyssa has proven that hard work day-in and day-out pays off," Southeast coach Kristi Ewasko said in a press release. "She has really stepped up at practice and commits to the adjustments her coaches ask of her. She doesn't accept mediocrity from herself, so I'm really excited to see how she continues to progress through the rest of the season."

The sophomore's scores of 9.800 on the floor exercise and vault set new career-highs, and her average all-around score of 39.000 is tied for 41st in the country.

The Redhawks return to action Friday night. They host Missouri and Lindenwood at 6:30 p.m. at Houck Field House.
