First-year Southeast Missouri State women's tennis coach Leah Hottois did not have to wait long to pick up her first win with the Redhawks.
Southeast claimed the final four singles matches for a 4-3 victory over Nebraska-Omaha in Thursday's season opener in Omaha, Neb.
Three Southeast players had to stage comebacks in their matches to pull out the win: Ekaterina Donetskova rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 3 singles over Hylan Miller; Annisa Warasanti dropped her first set 4-6 to Kenzie Hill but came back 6-2, 10-8 at No. 5; and Melissa Martin prevailed 5-7, 6-1, 10-5 over Jacqueline Baude at No. 6 singles.
Southeast's Heather Robinson swept her match against Lindsay Weiderman 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
Omaha-Nebraska (0-1) won the doubles point by winning all three matches.
Southeast will play Iowa State and Northern Iowa today.
